Steve Pigott, Music Producer

Over the past twenty years Steve Pigott has worked with most of the biggest names in the music business, names like Rod Stewart, Cher, The Who, Celine Dion, Cliff Richard, Gipsy Kings, Paul Young, Pet Shop Boys and many, many more. In his capacity as one of the best (and certainly the most expensive!) programmer/engineers in the world he has carved an enviable niche for himself in the UK record industry.

As a writer he has worked on a huge variety of projects from the early eighties to the present day, with and for the likes of Living in a Box, Average White Band, Cliff Richard, Paul Young (Sad Café), Chris Neil (Mike And The Mechanics), Jamie Petrie (D-Ream), Graham Gouldman (10CC). The list goes on.

Steve spent the second half of the 1990s locked in the old Britannia Row Building in Islington (London) developing a host of new projects and artists many of whom have come to form the basis from which D2M Records first emerged.Since then based at Sound City Studios in North West London the work continues both on the many in-house projects and also on the long list of programming/arrangement and production gigs for which Steve is constantly in demand.

In his relatively new capacity as MD of D2M Records Steve is hoping to expand and capitalise upon this success by moving more towards the production and A&R side of the business.

As Steve himself says, "In these past few years I've come across many artists and songs that I'd love to have been able to work with and develop further, but the framework within which to do so was just not there. We figured that the only way around it was to set up that framework ourselves, which is how D2M first came into being."

Alongside his current successes in various territories in the capacity of producer, publisher and writer with a variety of new artists, Steve has recently taken on board a number of new projects involving film, television and internet soundtrack production. "The internet is an enormous and rapidly-moving market these days. It creates a whole new set of challenges with which I'm very much looking forward to coming to terms".
